CANNA BASE / ANCIENT SHIPIBO MK 1

The Ancient Shipibo MK 1 Canna-Base is a ritual instrument disguised as an herb-crushing base pouch—built not just for function, but for memory, lineage, and altered states of consciousness.

The outer surface carries a digitally rendered Shipibo pattern inspired by the ancestral visual language of the Shipibo-Conibo people of the Amazon basin.

For centuries, these intricate geometric weavings—known as kené—were not mere decoration, but maps of energy, sound, and healing. Traditionally sung into existence during ayahuasca ceremonies, the patterns were believed to represent the underlying vibrational structure of reality itself—songs made visible, rhythms frozen into form.

This modern interpretation was digitally illustrated in collaboration with a South American artist-illustrator, Pedro, translating ceremonial geometry into a contemporary visual language while preserving its hypnotic symmetry and spiritual gravity.

The artwork is then precision-printed using a double-layered CMYK UV process onto the highest-quality full-grain leather, locking color, depth, and detail into the hide without flattening its natural character.

With time and use, the leather darkens and softens, forming a personal patina unique to its keeper. A detachable key ring and leather puller provide tactile grip and everyday utility—grounding an ancient visual language inside a modern ritual tool.

This is not surface art. This is ceremonial geometry, encoded into leather.
