CANNA BASE / SHIPIBO REFLECTIVE

The SHIPIBO REFLECTIVE Canna-Base is a modern ritual instrument disguised as an herb-crushing base pouch—built not just for function, but for resonance, memory, and altered perception.

The outer surface carries a reflective, digitally rendered Shipibo pattern inspired by the ancestral visual language of the Shipibo-Conibo people of the Amazon basin. These intricate geometric weavings—known as kené—were never ornamental. They were energetic maps, believed to be songs made visible: visual manifestations of icaros sung during ayahuasca ceremonies, encoding healing frequencies, cosmology, and the vibrational architecture of reality itself.

This contemporary interpretation was digitally illustrated in collaboration with a South American artist-illustrator, Pedro, translating ceremonial geometry into a modern, reflective visual language while preserving its hypnotic symmetry and spiritual gravity. Under light, the surface subtly shifts and shimmers—echoing the living, non-static nature of the original patterns.

The artwork is precision-printed using a double-layered CMYK UV process onto the highest-quality full-grain leather, locking depth, contrast, and reflectivity into the hide without suffocating its natural grain. The result is a surface that feels alive—graphic yet organic, ancient yet unmistakably modern.

Inside, the Canna-Base remains true to its ritual purpose. Lined with lab-tested calf DD leather, the interior offers a smooth, low-friction rolling surface ideal for crushing, mixing, and rolling everything from earthy tobacco to slow-burning organic blends. A central tunnel allows rolled spliffs or cigarettes to rest safely without squish, while also aiding clean separation of stems and seeds.

With time and use, the leather softens and darkens, forming a personal patina unique to its keeper. A detachable key ring and leather puller add tactile control and everyday utility—grounding sacred geometry inside a functional, daily artifact.

This is not decoration.
This is ceremonial geometry—encoded, reflected, and carried forward in leather.
